Resound

Resound aka Ilpo Karkkainen is an artist, producer and DJ from Tampere, Finland. With signings on some of the most influential record labels in the industry he’s quickly establishing his sound in the forefront of drum & bass music today.

Resound’s been in it for a while – with 12 years of production experience and a degree in music and sound technology he knows a thing or two about studio work.

His DJ skills are equally acclaimed – he’s been delivering deadly sets for years across the europe as well as his resident night Pressure in Tampere, Finland. He is also deeply involved in running Pressure – a club that is known for it’s wicked atmosphere and pushing new standards for DNB nights in Finland. Resound also runs a radio show called “Resoundsound” on Bassdrive – the original and most popular DNB station on the internet.

His tracks are now receiving well deserved exposure by a versatile cast of top DJ’s including Andy C, Bailey, Digital, Dylan, Flight, Goldie, Grooverider, Hype, Ink, L-Double, London Electricity, Loxy, Marcus Intalex, Pendulum, Raiden, Seba and Shy FX to name but a few. 2008 will be the year of collaborations with lots of tracks emerging from Resound co-produced with Digital, Loxy, Outrage and Subject 13.

Resound also runs AUX Media – a company specializing in urban music production and sound design. He has composed game soundtracks and animation scores that have been heard by millions of people allover the world.

With a steady flow of projects in the pipeline, Resound is making serious waves as a next generation drum and bass star. Don’t miss out on the sound of Resound!

Takomo

Takomo is the monicker of two young music enthusiasts from Finland, Pekka Kokkonen and Otto Hassinen. Originally drawing influences from dark drum’n'bass, Takomo has been moving fluently from drum’n'bass to techno and dubstep, and most notably nuskool breakbeat.

The two have released music on labels such as Botchit Breaks, Fusetrax and most recently, Trans:verse records but besides breakbeat scene, they’ve also worked on indie film scores, game music and soundtracks for digital art. A typical working pace for Takomo is slow, mainly due to the carefully detailed and welded soundscapes.

Besides working on their tunes, they’ve also got into dj’ing. They have hosted a show on award winning radio station, Breaks FM, and they’ve played shows inside and outside Finland as well. Their dj sets are as versatile as their production, moving fluently between different soundscapes of breakbeat to dubstep and electro, with a hint of techno, house and drum’n'bass here and there.

But the two are not the only people to play their tracks, as they have received dj support from the likes of Annie Nightingale, Tayo, Ctrl Z, Sunz of Mecha, Baobinga, Hoffman, LBJ, ElSid, Stormtrooperz, Influenza and Cereal Killaz.
